Meet the founders
Sister 2 Sistah is a Houston-based nonprofit dedicated to empowering individuals through mentorship, education, leadership development, and community service.
Founded by Rebecca Briscoe and Nakia Cooper, the organization began by supporting young women as they pursued higher education and personal success. As the need grew, so did the mission.
Today, Sister 2 Sistah serves young women, young men, and senior citizens through programs that inspire confidence, create opportunity, and strengthen communities. We believe that when people are equipped with the right support, they don’t just overcome challenges—they thrive.

11 photos PHOTOS: A Day to Remember at Houston Dynamo Stadium
July 11, 2026On Saturday, July 11, Sister 2 Sistah treated children receiving services through a local youth support program to an unforgettable day at Shell Energy Stadium as Houston Dynamo FC hosted C.D. Olimpia during Soccer Celebration, presented by Kroger. Thanks to the generosity of community and business leader David Denenburg, the group enjoyed a VIP experience that included suite access, lunch, gift bags and special visits from the Houston Dynamo cheerleaders and team mascot. Sister 2 Sistah also extends its heartfelt appreciation to the Houston Dynamo organization, whose leadership stopped by the suite to personally greet the children and escorted them to the field for an up-close view following the match. The outing created lasting memories and reflected the power of community partnerships to inspire, encourage and remind every child that they are valued and supported.
